As Rapunzel’s quest, The Sundial, came to a close, we left you and Rapunzel on a small floating island that held the Wild Tangle Statue of Time. You discovered that the Jewel of Time, which the statue should have been holding, was missing. The only other thing on the floating island was a diary page referencing Mother Gothel’s desire to take the Jewel for experiments.

As you show Rapunzel the diary page you found, she hears Mother Gothel or an echo of her, laughing. It’s a good bet that Mother Gothel had something to do with the disappearance of the Jewel of Time. You need to check the Tower.

Rapunzel’s Tower sits in The Grove. If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit this part of the Wild Tangle, you’ll get the chance now. Merlin is on hand to guide you through the opening process. All it takes is 4000 Mist and a little magic. Tada! The entrance is open.

Quest Task: Unlock the Grove in the Wild Tangle.

• Search for Mist with your Hourglass, or access the Dreamlight menu and investigate your new Mist Duties by pressing + (switch controls)

You catch up with Rapunzel at the base on the Tower. There’s a treasure chest inside that Mother Gothel always forbid her to open. If Mother Gothel did take the jewel, that would be a likely hiding place for it.

There’s just one small problem. Rapunzel believes the Tower she lived in for so long is cursed. She wants no part of going inside. Since it’s crucial to find the Jewel of Time, you need to find a way to alleviate Rapunzel’s fears.

Off and on, Rapunzel sees a shadow of Mother Gothel in the Tower window. She’s starring down at Rapunzel, looking disappointed.

Bolstering Rapunzel’s confidence, the two of you decide to tackle the Tower and whatever magic Mother Gothel left behind, together.

On to the next “challenge”. There is no way in. The walls of the Tower are covered in slippery moss. For you to enter, you’ll need to plant a beanstalk!

Since Eternity Isle doesn’t have magic beans for sale, you’ll just have to plant some vines instead. With the magic of your Royal Watering Can, the Vines will grow fast and tall in no time at all.

Quest Task: Dig up Vine Seeds on the Plains near the Oasis – 3.

Vine Seeds

While you are off hunting for vine seeds, Rapunzel is clearing a spot at the base of the Tower for you to plant them in. Incidentally, she is also keeping a close eye on the Tower window.

Just as you return, an echo of Mother Gothel’s voice is heard, and Swirling Sands suddenly appear at the base of the tower to block your path. You can understand why Rapunzel thinks the Tower is cursed. Yet, Mother Gothel’s magical antics are no match for your Royal Tools.

Quest Task: Return to Rapunzel’s Tower.

• Remove the Swirling Sands around Rapunzel’s Tower – 3.
• Talk to Rapunzel.

The area around the Tower is cleared in no time and the vine seeds grow strong and tall under the magic of the Royal Watering Can. Your way into Rapunzel’s tower is now in place.

Quest Task: Put all three Vine Seeds in the soil at the base of Rapunzel’s Tower.

Quest Task: Interact with the tower to grow the vines with Hourglass magic.

Oh My! What you see when you enter Rapunzel’s Tower is not what you expected. Swirling Sands fill the room. Cleanup time!

As you clear the path and reach Mother Gothel’s treasure chest, more of her magic kicks in. A sand pile on the floor, just in front of the window, turns into an image of Mother Gothel.

It’s time for Rapunzel to voice her frustrations and anger with Mother Gothel. She needs to confront this magical replica. It’s the only way to get rid of Sand Mother Gothel.

To add to this strange situation, Sand Mother Gothel taunts Rapunzel. Yet in this case, those taunts are just the thing to spear Rapunzel into action and the confrontation begins.

Quest Task: Clear away the Swirling Sands to reach Gothel’s Chest in the tower.

The confrontation with Sand Mother Gothel was very healing. Rapunzel feels a weight lifted from her. She’s back to her happy, carefree self. It’s great!

With the Sand Mother Gothel gone, all that’s left behind is a small pile of sand. But look, there is something sparkly in the sand. Sure enough, it’s The Jewel of Time!

Quest Task: You helped Rapunzel banish the Sands from the tower.

You can now reach Mother Gothel’s treasure chest as well. Flinging it open, you find Rapunzel’s lost paints inside.

Rapunzel is ecstatic!! She has her paints back!
