Where to find Candy

You’ll find the Halloween Candy Buckets on the ground in the Plaza. For the 2024 event, the buckets appear once a day.

Look for 6 buckets each day. But beware, some of the buckets can be tucked up close to buildings and hard to spot.

Village Dreamlight Duties

There are several things that you can do with the Trick-or-Treat Event candy you collect, and a couple are easy to miss.

Check out the Halloween-related Village Dreamlight Duties. They will net you some great Halloween-themed rewards.

Some of these Village Dreamlight Duties can be performed year-round, but one, in particular, requires the special sweet treats that are only available during this event!

To see what’s available, check out the menu: Dreamlight>Village. Look for the items with the jack-o-lantern on top.

How to Complete Village Duty: Trick or Treat

The Village Dreamlight Duty “Trick or Treat” has you sharing candy with other Villagers.

To complete Duty “Trick or Treat”, give 10 pieces of candy to a Villager or Villagers of your choice. A reward is waiting for you when you do!

For those new to Disney Dreamlight Valley, here is how you give a Villager candy.

  • Have the candy in your backpack Inventory.
  • Talk to a Villager and select the option, “I have something to give you!” (This option isn’t just for giving Favorite Gifts.)
  • Select the candy from your Inventory and hand it over.

ProTip: It’s important to note that you can give Any candy to complete this Village Duty. It does not have to be the special candy you collect from the Halloween Buckets!

How to Complete Village Duty: Sugar Rush

“Sugar Rush” is another of the Halloween-related Village Dreamlight Duties. This Duty actually has three (3) parts and as a result, 3 rewards.

Any type of candy will work for this Village Dreamlight Duty as well. You do not need to use the Trick-or-Treat Special Event candy if you don’t want to.

To complete “Sugar Rush”:

  1. Eat 15 pieces of candy
  2. Eat a total of 30 pieces of candy
  3. Continue eating candy until you reach a total of 45 pieces

How to Complete Village Duty: Villainy Wears Many Masks

Although also Halloween related, the Village Duty “Villainy Wears Many Masks” is completed as soon as you put on your first “Mask”.

To complete this duty, go to Wardrobe>Masks

Most of the masks are obtained by completing various quests or are Star Path rewards. For example, you’ll get the Donald Duck Mask during “Olaf’s Quest: Olaf Presents…Dreamlight Valley“.

How to Complete Stockpiling Pumpkins

Another Halloween, or pumpkin related Village Duty is “Stockpiling Pumpkins”.

This duty is fairly straightforward. Plant and harvest 100 pumpkins. You don’t need to plant all 100 at once. The game keeps track of how many you harvest as you play.

When you reach 100, claim your reward!

ProTip: A great way to make some quick money is to cook 3 pumpkins, making a Grilled Veggie Platter. If you sell this variation of the dish at any of Goofy’s Stalls, you’ll make 2787 Star Coins per meal!

Crafting Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl

The 2024 Trick-or-Treat Event comes with a new crafting recipe. It appears in your mailbox at the start of the event. Although, it could also be found, for some, in the crafting menu after the download of Update 13.

To ensure you have the crafting recipe, read the mail which appears on October 23, 2024 entitled “Trick-or-Treat 2024 Begins”. Claim the reward inside. If the recipe is already in your crafting station’s menu, you’ll get a little bit of animation, but nothing more. If it’s not, the recipe will go into your backpack Inventory where you will then need to read it.

You are now ready to make Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl!

Head to a standard crafting station. The recipe is now found in the Furniture Menu.

Two (2) pieces of each color of the special Halloween candy and some clay is needed to make Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl.

If you don’t have all these items in inventory, here is where to find them.

Candy – Open the Candy Buckets found in the Plaza during the Trick-or-Treat Event

Clay

  • Dig Bone Clusters in the Sunlit Plateau
  • Appears randomly when digging up ground in the following locations.
    • Glade of Trust
    • Sunlit Plateau
    • Forgotten Lands

ProTip: Craft and use Miracle Shovel Varnish or Even More Miraculous Shovel Varnish to significantly increase the amount of “stuff” you get while digging up the ground. Since clay appears randomly during digging, the varnish will speed up the collection process.
