Topaz is the only gems, at this point, that can be found on Dreamlight Valley, Eternity Isle and Storybook Vale!

This is very handy when you need to mine a large quantity of Topaz. It’s also extremely helpful when you are searching for Shiny Topaz, as is the case with Frost and Fairies Star Path Duty # 72.

Frost & Fairies Star Path Duty # 72: Find Shiny Topaz with your Pickaxe, has you mining 2 Shiny Topaz. That doesn’t sound like much, but finding Shiny Gems can be a bit frustrating at times.

So, here are all the Topaz locations:

Topaz

• Plaza (Dreamlight Valley)
• Courtyard in Ancient’s Landing (Eternity Isle)
• The Docks in Ancient’s Landing (Eternity Isle)
• The Bind (Storybook Vale)

Complete Merlin’s Quest The Port of Many Worlds to begin your adventures on Eternity Isle. You initially arrive at The Docks, a section of Ancients Landing. It’s a good place to mine for Topaz.

More Topaz can be found in The Courtyard, another section of Ancients Landing. Progress through part of the next quest in the storyline, The Secrets of Eternity Isle and the Courtyard mining spots will be in your reach.

Merlin’s Quest, The Port of Many Worlds, is also the entry point for adventures on Storybook Vale. In this case, however, you arrive at the path leading to The Library of Lore.

Topaz can be mined in The Bind, which opens once you complete Merida’s quest, Welcome to The Storybook Vale, and start her quest, A New Chapter.

Mining for Shiny Gems always seems to be time-consuming. Nonetheless, there is one way to help the process along a little.

Head to your favorite crafting station and brew a batch of Miracle Pickaxe Polish. Once applied to your pickaxe, any mining spots that contain gems, will produce extra gems. The Miracle Pickaxe Polish lasts for 10 swings of your pickaxe, sort of. You get a free swing at each mining spot. (see the Pro Tip below for additional information)

Miracle Pickaxe Polish Recipe:

• 10 Vitalys Crystal
• 5 Onyx
• 500 Dreamlight

Although it takes a lot of Dreamlight, another option is the Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish. This version of the polish gives you 25 swings of the pickaxe, plus 1 free swing at each mining spot.

Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish Recipe:

• 20 Vitalys Crystal
• 10 Onyx
• 1000 Dreamlight

The extra gems you gain when using the Pickaxe Polishes help increase the chance of getting the required Shiny Gems. Even so, using a Pickaxe Polish doesn’t guarantee Shiny Gems will fall. Only you can decide if it’s worth using your Dreamlight to craft some, or if you just want to swing away without any polish.

Pro Tip: Once you apply either Pickaxe Polish, our tests showed that you get one “free” swing at each Mining Spot. In our experience, it was the last swing. In other words, if it takes 5 swings to break the Mining Spot, only 4 of the swings will “use up” some of the Pickaxe Polish.
