The Fallen Fortress

It took a little Story Magic, but the area of Everafter known as the Fallen Fortress is open. As you look around, you can tell how this area got its’ name. There is actually a Fallen Fortress in this area with its’ very own moat! It also looks like another Fairy Tale Trail awaits inside the Fortress. All you need to do is find a way to get to it!

A Drawbridge

The Inkies at the entrance to The Fallen Fortress of Everafter are gone. They only required 5000 Story Magic to remove. Getting to the actual Fortress that gave the area its’ name, will take more than story magic, however. You need to find a way to lower the raised drawbridge so you can cross the moat.

Quest Task: Explore the area around the Fallen Fortress

Quest Task: There seems to be something important on the other side of those crumbing castle walls…

  • Look for a way to lower the castle’s drawbridge.

Advice Needed

Examining the drawbridge, you find an inscription. It says you can only pass if you prove yourself a knight!?

Ok, this is going to require some help. Surely Flynn knows something about becoming a knight!

Quest Task: The drawbridge won’t budge. You might need help on this one…

  • Explore the Wild Woods to find a Villager who might be able to help you.
  • Talk to Flynn about the mysterious Fortress and its drawbridge.

A Story of Knights

Flynn is able to provide some good advice. He read lots of books about knights and heros as a child.

Every good knight had a special suit of Armor. That would be a good place to start if you want to become a knight. He even has a picture of Knight Armor that he made as a kid.

Examine the picture Flynn gives you. It will be in your Backpack Inventory. Looking at it places a crafting recipe in your crafting menu. Now you can make a set of Armor just like it!

Finding Resources

Gather the resources you need to make the Fairytale Armor. Most if the items will likely already be in your Inventory Chests, but here is where to find anything that you may be missing.

Iron Ingot: Crafted from Iron Ore and Coal Ore

White Rose: Grows wild in The Wild Woods and The Fallen Fortress

Opal: Mine in The Bind

Star Sapphire: Mine anywhere in Everafter

Quest Task: Gather the materials required to craft the Fairy Tale Armor.

  • Iron Ingot – 5
  • White Rose – 3
  • Opal – 2
  • Star Sapphire – 2

Crafting Fairytale Armor

With all the items gathered, head back to your crafting station. It’s time to make some Fairytale Armor.

You’ll find the crafting recipe under Functional Items.

Something More Needed

Unfortunately, the Fairytale Armor alone isn’t enough for the drawbridge to consider you a knight.

Flynn suggests you find a good squire and perhaps defeat a mythical beast.

It takes some convincing, but Flynn agrees to hang out with you and act as your squire. The mythical beast, however, is another thing. Perhaps you can befriend one of the Baby Dragons that live in Everafter.

Quest Task: You are making good progress on your way to becoming a knight! Complete the journey by:

  • Wearing Fairytale Armor
  • Hanging out with your squire (Flynn!)
  • Optional: Tame any Baby Dragon in Everafter

How to Tame a Dragon

The Baby Dragons live in Everafter. They are actually not that hard to befriend, although it does take a little time. Feed the Baby Dragon it’s favorite food on three different days and it will become your friend.

Favorite Food: Magma or Pure Ice

Select the Baby Dragon as your companion from the Wardrobe menu and the drawbridge is sure to see that you’ve tamed it!

Pro Tip: For more information on befriending critters, see our guides: Storybook Vale Critters Guide, Eternity Isle Critters Guide, Dreamlight Valley Critters Guide.

The Fallen Fortress Drawbridge

Head back to the drawbridge in front of the Fallen Fortress. Be sure that you are hanging out with Flynn when you approach. Try once again to interact with the drawbridge.

It worked! The drawbridge lowers and you can now approach the Fallen Fortress.

Quest Task: You are officially a knight! Congratulations, <Your Name> the Brave.

  • Lower the drawbridge to the Fallen Fortress.

Cross the Drawbridge

Cross over the drawbridge and take a look around the Fallen Fortress. The entrance to another Fairy Tale Trail sits in the middle with a wheel lever off to the side. Are you ready?

As soon as you swing your Royal Net to activate the Fairy Tale Trail portal, this quest ends, and The Knights of the Round Table begins.

Quest Task: The drawbridge is lowered!
