Squirrels call the Plaza home and are therefore the first critter you come across when you begin playing Disney Dreamlight Valley. Always ready for a snack, Squirrels will plop down in front of you, as you as you approach, and beg for food.

There are 5 different squirrels that frequent the Plaza, but they are never all there at once. In fact, the only day of the week that you can find all 5 in one day is Sunday, and even then, the most you’ll see at once, is three.

It’s easy to befriend a squirrel. Simply feed them a couple of times.

Once a critter is befriended, they are willing to join you, as your companion, whenever you want them to. Selecting a companion is as easy as changing your clothes.

Menu: Wardrobe>Companions

When a critter is your companion, they will follow you around the valley, often adding a little humor and entertainment to your daily tasks.

Pro Tip: Unique companions that are purchased, redeemed through codes or rewarded in quests and star paths are only found in the Companion menu. You won’t see them in the Collections>Critters menu.
