Jasmine has been working hard to decode the strange symbols on the Secret Journal that lies within the enchanted flower. She’s finally done it!

The symbols are a recipe for a key!

Although, the full meaning of the symbols isn’t completely clear, Jasmine knows the next step is to go to Dazzle Beach to get the ingredients for the key. They need something called Sea Sand Sparks.

Perhaps Moana, who is much more familiar with the sea and sand, can tell you how to get the Sparks!

Quest Task: Talk to Moana.

Moana is a good choice for someone to ask. Before The Forgetting, she helped Jasmine and Merlin keep the journal safe by creating a Sea Sand Torch. The Torch creates Sea Sand Sparks, which in turn draws the magic to the key that controls the lock on the journal.

You’ll need to make a new Sea Sand Torch, though, from scratch. The original no longer exists.

Moana gives you the list of materials you need. If everything for the recipe is not found in your storage chests, here is where to look for it.

Softwood

• On the ground near trees or bushes in:
  • Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Glade of Trust, Forest of Valor (Dreamlight Valley)
  • Ancient’s Landing (Eternity Isle)
• Dig up Tree Stumps
• Buy at Kristoff’s Stall for 5 Star Coins (appears randomly)

Fiber

• Craft from Seaweed at a standard crafting station
• Buy at Kristoff’s Stall for 6 Star Coins (appears randomly)

Sand

• Dig in Dazzle Beach (Dreamlight Valley) or Glittering Dunes (Eternity Isle)
• Break Sand Debris on the beach with your Royal Pickaxe
• Buy at Kristoff’s Stall for 8 Star Coins (appears randomly)

Aquamarine – Mine in the following locations (random drop)

• Forest of Valor

Quest Task: Gather materials for Moana’s Sea Sand Torch.

Quest Task: Bring the materials to Moana.

Pro Tip: Be sure to keep all the materials in your backpack Inventory, so you can give them to Moana.

Moana takes all the materials and creates the Sea Sand Torch for you.

The Torch needs to be placed on Dazzle Beach for the magic to work. You can, however, decide where on Dazzle Beach to place it.

It doesn’t take long before the Sea Sand Torch starts putting off Sea Sand Sparks.

Quest Task: Talk to Jasmine.

Meet Jasmine on the beach and collect the Sea Sand Sparks from the torch.

While you were working with Moana, Jasmine was continuing to translate the symbols on the Secret Journal. To finish making the magic key, you still need to find a Special Starfish.

This requires someone with even more information about the sea than Moana. You need to talk with Maui!

Maui knows all about THE Special Starfish that you need to create the magical key. In fact, it’s a one-of-a-kind starfish. And he, Maui, is the only one that has ever caught one.

But Maui isn’t about to just hand it over. You need to win it from him in a competition of your choosing.

Quest Task: Talk to Maui.

Quest Task: Talk to Jasmine.

After some discussion, you and Jasmine decide on a sandy competition. You are going to challenge Maui to a Sandcastle building competition. This is one of Jasmine’s specialties!

Jasmine gives you the list of materials needed to build a winning sandcastle. Much of it is likely in your storage chests, but for anything that is missing, here is where to look for more.

Sand

• Dig in Dazzle Beach (Dreamlight Valley) or Glittering Dunes (Eternity Isle)
• Break Sand Debris on the beach with your Royal Pickaxe
• Buy at Kristoff’s Stall for 8 Star Coins (appears randomly)

Clay

• Dig anywhere in these locations:
  • Glade of Trust
  • Sunlit Plateau
  • Forgotten Lands
• Dig up Bones
• Buy at Kristoff’s Stall for 20 Star Coins (appears randomly)

Seaweed – fish outside circles in these locations:

• Dreamlight Valley
• The Glittering Dunes – Eternity Isles

Quest Task: Gather materials to build a Winning Sandcastle for Maui’s competition.

• Sand – 50
• Clay – 14
• Seaweed – 7

Pro Tip: Use Miracle Shovel Varnish or Even More Miraculous Shovel Varnish to dig up more items with a single stroke. Taking along a buddy with a digging role will increase the take even more. This will not, however, guarantee you’ll dig up exactly what you want. That is still random.

Head to your favorite crafting station and build a Sandcastle Kit. There are actually 3 different parts to the kit; Sandcastle Corner Towers, Sandcastle Door, and Sandcastle Walls. You can find all of the crafting recipes in the Furniture menu.

Quest Task: Craft a Sandcastle Kit.

Quest Task: Talk to Jasmine.

Pro Tip: You will be able to craft more Sandcastle pieces in the future, should you want to make a more elaborate Sandcastle than required for the quest.

Head to Dazzle Beach and find a spot to your liking for your Sandcastle. Jasmine provides a castle centerpiece, that fits nicely in the middle of the walls you just built.

Quest Task: Decorate the Beach with a Winning Sandcastle worthy of a competition with a demigod.

Maui and Jasmine compare their sandcastle entries, or rather, Maui looks at what you and Jasmine created.

It was a sandy competition that didn’t go well for Maui’s entry. It turns out his sandcastle was washed out to sea before you even got a chance to see it.

So, that means… You won The Special Starfish!

You now have everything you need to craft The Beach Key.

Back to a crafting station you go. The crafting recipe is found under Functional Items.

Take your new key to Jasmine and Aladdin’s House where you can interact with the Enchanted Flower and the Secret Journal.

The Beach Key slides neatly into the lock, and it clicks open.

Quest Task: Go inside Jasmine and Aladdin’s House.

Quest Task: Use the Beach Key to unlock the first lock of the Secret Journal.

You’re halfway there! But there is still one more lock to open before you can see what is in the Secret Journal. However, you and Jasmine have no clue on how to open.

Still, Jasmine is not ready to give up. She just needs a little more time!
