Breaking the Ice

Elsa is drawn to the Ice Cavern, an icy cave in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Forest of Valor. A sound coming from its’ depths feels like it’s calling to her. But the entrance is blocked by ice not even Elsa can remove. She needs your help breaking the ice so that she can enter. What is this mysterious location hiding inside? Join us on this adventure and find out!

Recon

Meet Elsa at the Ice Cavern in the Forest of Valor. She has been hearing a strange sound coming from inside, but the ice built up around the cave prevents her from investigating.

Since Elsa’s magic doesn’t affect the ice, she thinks your Dreamlight Magic may be needed to remove it. But when you try breaking the ice with your Royal Pickaxe, it proves to be too strong for that as well.

Upgraded Royal Shovel

Show Elsa the Warmth of Summer Potion. The heat emanating off it is a very good sign.

During your conversation with Elsa, the potion is applied to your Royal Pickaxe. No other action is required on your part. The Warmth of Summer Potion permanently upgrades your Royal Pickaxe.

With the added strength, breaking the ice in front of the Ice Cavern is easy!

Well, to be more accurate, breaking the small piles of ice is easy. The large piles of ice are still too much for your Royal Pickaxe. But that’s a concern for another day (or quest).

Head inside the Ice Cavern.

Quest Task: Enter the Ice Cavern.

Pro Tip: The ability to remove the large ice piles will require another Royal Pickaxe upgrade, which you will receive as part of Elsa’s Level 6 Friendship quest, The Singing Ice.

Inside the Ice Cavern

It likely comes as no surprise that the inside of the Ice Cavern contains more piles of ice. The Night Thorns have also cropped up inside the space.

But the Ice Cavern also appears to be a home, Elsa’s Home. There are ice sculptures of Anna and Elsa, along with some icy furniture. No wonder Anna thought this would be a great place for Elsa to live!

Still first things first. Might as well get to work cleaning up the space by breaking the ice piles and removing Night Thorns.

A Second Room

After clearing the debris and breaking the ice, a chasm is exposed. The sound that Elsa is hearing seems to be coming from the other side.

Elsa senses a bridge once stretched over the chasm. Perhaps, she can bring it back with her magic.

And this time, her magic works! Head across the bridge and into the second room.

Quest Task: Follow Elsa to explore the Ice Cavern.

The Blue Crest

Entering the second room, you too, can hear the strange sound. It’s coming from a Blue Crest that is lying on the ground inside the room.

Pick up the Blue Crest and show it to Elsa. It’s very familiar and just on the edge of her memory.

The Sculpted Wall

Elsa remembers. The Blue Crest belong in a Sculpture on the wall of the second room.

Place the Blue Crest into its’ slot on the Sculpted Wall. Once it’s in place, the sound it was putting off softens to a whisper. Hmm, how interesting.

Quest Task: Place the Blue Crest on the sculpted wall.

A Good Day

There is a lot of mystery to uncover surrounding the Ice Cavern. But that will wait for another day.

As for now, Elsa is back in her home and feeling much more settled. All in all, it’s been a really good day!
