Sally wants to grow henbane, witch hazel, and worm’s wort in Disney Dreamlight Valley. But, the soil in the Valley just isn’t rich enough for them to grow properly.

Your help is needed to craft a Compost Bin. It’s a great way to get soil rich with the nutrients her garden thrives on. The trimmings added to the Compost Bin will decay to grow or create a nutrient rich soil. All she needs to do then is add the rich compost to her garden!

Making a Compost Bin, which will allow food & plant scraps to decay to grow great herbs, is no problem for a master crafter such as yourself! Head out to gather the materials.

Remy will provide the Vegetable Trimmings. However, here is where to find everything else you need.

Bricks

• Craft from clay and coal ore using a standard crafting station. Clay is found by digging up bones in the Sunlit Plateau or soil in the Sunlit Plateau, Glade of Trust and Forgotten Lands. Coal Ore can be purchased at Kristoff’s Stall or found, randomly, when mining.

Soil

• A random drop when digging in any Valley Biome, except Dazzle Beach.

Dark Wood

• Found on ground in Forgotten Lands

Sally has been exploring the Vitalys Mines with Jack and found a perfect location for her new Compost Bin. Follow her into the mines and help her get it setup.

Quest Task: Bring the Compost Bin to Sally in the Vitayls Mines.

The compost needs just a little something more to keep it balanced and healthy, as Sally puts it. She saw some Dried Plants and Dry Wood in the Sunlit Plateau that would work perfectly!

Head back to the Sunlit Plateau and gather up the remaining materials. If you aren’t finding any Dry Wood lying around the Sunlit Plateau, try the Forgotten Lands.

Return to the Vitalys Mines with the items you gathered.

Sally is waiting inside the mines, and she’s rather upset. Someone or something has gotten into the Compost Bin! It has been knocked over and is empty!!

Quest Task: Go back to the Vitalys Mines and place the Dry Wood and Dried Plants in the Compost Bin.

• Make sure you have the following materials in your Inventory:
  • Dry Wood – 6
  • Dried Plants – 8

Quest Task: Bring the materials to Sally in the Vitalys Mines.

You and Sally need to figure out what is getting into the Compost Bin! The two of you devise a plan to trap and relocate the Critter.

Once again, head out of the Vitalys Mines and gather what you need. This time you’re looking for materials to make a humane Critter Trap!

Here is where to find anything you may be short of.

Hardwood

• Dig up Stumps in the Sunlit Plateau
• On the ground in Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, Frosted Heights, and Forest of Valor

Blueberry

• Grow wild in Dazzle Beach or Forest of Valor
• Replenish in 23 min.

Iron Ingot

• Craft from Iron Ore and Coal Ore
• Can be purchased at Kristoff’s Stall for 150 Star Coins. Appears Randomly

Dream Shards

• Dig in cracked earth spots – appears randomly

Meet Sally in the Vitalys Mines and hand over the Critter Trap.

After it’s setup, Sally heads out of the mines to gather items to refill the Compost Bin. She has a task for you as well.

Sally would like you to dig up some worms to add to the Compost Bin. Apparently, they will help to speed the Compost making process along!

You’ll find the worms Sally needs in the Glade of Trust. Dig them up and take them to Sally.

It’s time to check on your Critter Trap! But what you find is totally unexpected.

Mike is inside the trap!! He’s been using the Compost as seasoning for his food!!

Quest Task: Go into the Vitalys Mines to check on the Compost Bin.

Quest Task: Mike is caught in the Critter Trap? Talk to him.

It takes a bit of convincing on Sally’s part, but she and Mike finally come to an agreement. Mike can have some of the Compost to season his food, but he must leave enough for Sally’s garden as well.

Mike sees this as quite a waste of good seasoning, but the deal is struck! He gets great seasoning, and Sally gets rich soil for her garden. A great solution all around!

ProTip: If Sally and Mike to not start their conversation, try hanging out with Sally and entering the Vitalys Mines. Mike should be there when you arrive at the Compost Bin location.
