Feeding of Critters Guide – Eternity Isle

A Rift in Time hit the market on Dec 5, 2023. This Disney Dreamlight Valley, purchased, add-on, brings a whole new world for you to explore and in that world are brand new critters. Knowing where to find and what to feed the Eternity Isle Critters is just as challenging as Dreamlight Valley Critters.

If you’re not into guessing games, this Eternity Isle Critters Guide should help make this activity in the game much more enjoyable!

General Finding and Feeding Information

Eternity Isle has three large areas or Regions for you to explore. Each Region has a different species or type of critter. For example: Monkeys live and play in Ancient’s Landing. You won’t find them in any other Region.

To make things a little more interesting, however, the Eternity Isle Regions are broken down into smaller areas. We’ll refer to these smaller areas as Districts, for purpose of clarity. There are several different types of Monkeys on Eternity Isle and they each have a favorite District they stay in, in Ancient’s Landing. So, to find all the Monkeys, you’ll need access to all the Districts of Ancient’s Landing’s.

Catching a Critter:

Each type of critter wants to be approached differently. Some, you can walk directly up to, while others want to play a game of follow the leader or Red Light/Green Light. In the guide below, there are instructions on how to approach each type of critter.

Feeding a Critter:

As you probably expect, different critters have different favorite food. Unlike Dreamlight Valley, on Eternity Isle, all the critters of the same species, share the same favorite foods. This simplifies things a lot.

The Classic Monkey is the first critter you meet when you arrive on Eternity Isle. As you might expect of a Monkey, it wants to play before settling down to eat.

How to Approach: Monkey like the game of tag. The game starts once you catch up to them and get them to pause long enough to engage with you. They will then run away (3 more times), expecting you to follow. Just when you think you caught them, they will change direction and lead you on a merry chase. After a few twists and turns, they’ll settling down and wait for something to eat.

Glittering Dunes – Cobra

Cobras as friends and companions. Really?!

It takes a special kind of person to make friends with a Cobra!

But this is Disney Dreamlight Valley. Here, Cobras can and do make great friends for anyone.

How to Approach: Cobras like to play a variation of the game Red Light, Green Light.

First, get close enough to them, to catch their attention, but don’t move when they finally see you or they’ll slither away. The game is on when they stop and stretch their neck high into the air.

The cobra will then start to raise and lower tit’s head.

  • A raised head is a red light. Do not move.
  • A lowered head is a green light. Take a few steps closer to the Cobra (about three). Then freeze. Don’t move until they raise and lower their head again.

Repeat this as you move close to them. When you’re close enough, they curl up tightly and let you feed them.

Pro Tip: Unique companions that are purchased, redeemed through codes or rewarded in quests and star paths are only found in the Companion menu. They will not show in the Collection/Critters section.
