Updated: 11/30/2024

General Finding and Feeding Information

The Storybook Vale has three large areas or Regions for you to explore. Each Region has a different species or type of Critter. For example: Pegasus live and play in Mythopia. You won’t find them in any other Region.

As with the other Disney Dreamlight Valley islands, the Storybook Vale Regions are broken down into smaller areas. We’ll refer to these smaller areas as Districts, for purpose of clarity. There are several different types of Pegasus in Storybook Vale and they each have a favorite District they stay in within Mythopia. So, to find all the Pegasus, you’ll need access to all the Districts of Mythopia.

Catching a Critter:

Each type of Critter wants to be approached differently. Some, you can walk directly up to, while others want to play a game of catch me if you can. In this guide, there are instructions on how to approach each type of critter.

Feeding a Critter:

As you probably expect, different Critters have different favorite food. Unlike Dreamlight Valley, in The Storybook Vale all the Critters of the same species share the same favorite foods. This simplifies things a lot.

The Bind: Owls

When you first arrive in Storybook Vale, you dock at The Library of Lore, which is a District of The Bind. It’s not long before you encounter your first Storybook Vale Critter. The Dark Owl and the Brown Owl take turns hanging out in the Library of Lore.

An Owl in a Library full of books… makes sense, right.

Is it just me or does that Owl remind you a lot of Archimedes, one of my personal favorite characters… by I digress.

How to Approach: Owls are easy to feed. Just walk up to them. These are intelligent birds. They know when a treat is close at hand and simply wait for you to approach.
