The Circle of Life

Large Bone Clusters litter the Sunlit Plateau, a stark reminder of the circle of life. Unfortunately, they also divide the Sunlit Plateau by blocking passage across the river. Your Royal Shovel is no match for the strong bones, but Scar just might have a solution.

A Divided Plateau

The Sunlit Plateau in Disney Dreamlight Valley is still divided. Your Royal Shovel can only remove the Small Bone Clusters. Scar, however, believes he knows someone who can help make the Royal Shovel even stronger.

You need to talk to Mother Gothel.

Gathering Ingredients

Before The Forgetting, Mother Gothel studied the Circle of Life in the Sunlit Plateau. She found a potion recipe that uses Old Bones and Purified Night Shards in Merlin’s library. If you make it and apply it to your Royal Shovel, it will make it strong enough to remove the Large Bone Clusters!

Craft the Purified Night Shards using Dream Shards and Night Shards. They can be found by digging in cracked earth spots throughout Dreamlight Valley.

You’ll need to search the Vitalys Mines for the old Bones, but Mother Gothel even gave you some directions. How unusually helpful of her. Hmm…

Left upon entry, Next Right, and then Left again.

Quest Task: Gather the materials for the upgrade:

  • Purified Night Shards – 10
  • The Old Bones in the mines under the Sunlit Plateau – 1

Turning Bones to Ash

Once you have the Bones, you need to turn them to Ash. Scar has a Volcanic Geyser in his cave. It should do the trick.

Quest Task: Place the Old Bones in the Volcanic Geyser in Scar’s Cave.

Flower of Bones

Oddly enough, you need to plant the Bone Ashes.

Be sure to water them, a couple times in fact. They will grow into a Flower of Bones in minutes if well-tended.

Quest Task: Plant the Ashes anywhere on the Sunlit Plateau.

Quest Task: Care for the Flower of Bones.

Pro Tip: Don’t leave after you plant the bones. The plant dries up in about a minute or two after you plant it. Water it again and it will mature a couple minutes after that.

Crafting a Roaring Shovel Head

You now have everything you need to make the potion for your Royal Shovel.

Head to a nearby crafting station and get to work. You’ll find the Roaring Shovel Head recipe under the Potion & Enchantment menu

Applying the Potion

Use the Potion from your Inventory to permanently upgrade your Royal Shovel. It is now strong enough to remove the Large Bone Clusters!

Head to the wooden bridge in the Sunlit Plateau and give it a try.

Quest Task: Use the Roaring Shovel Head to improve your Royal Shovel.

No Longer Divided

The Large Bone Clusters blocking the bridges that cross the river have been removed. You can now easily reach both sides of the Sunlit Plateau!

This makes life a lot easier. You no longer need to go through the Forgotten Lands to get to the other side of the Sunlit Plateau.

Even Scar is pleased and that’s no easy feat!
