The Fractured Glass

Something is just not quite right. Alice is finding everything amusing, even when something unfortunately happens to one of the Villagers. It’s just not like her. Join us in the Fractured Glass adventure as we work to figure out the cause of the mysterious personality shift in our young Villager.

Polling the Villagers

Alice has been making some very strange comments about things that are happening in the Valley. Her comments are very out of character. You need to figure out what is going on.

Talk with some of the Villagers that Alice was recently with to see if they noticed anything odd.

Start with Scrooge. It turns out that he recently scolded Alice for making a mess in his shop. She got upset and ran home.

Later, Mother Gothel scolded Alice for getting her dress dirty while playing and she went away pouting. But, sometime after that, Mother Gothel reported that she saw Alice again and then she was extremely happy.

Olaf on the other hand, was heading to Alice’s to play when he tripped, and his book fell in the mud. He was upset about the ruined pages, but all Alice did was laugh! Olaf thought that this was rather mean of her and was not amused!

Quest Task: Talk to the following Villagers.

  • Scrooge McDuck
  • Mother Gothel
  • Olaf

Two Alices

Head to Alice’s house to see if you can find out what is causing her strange behavior. But what you find inside is not at all what you expect.

A tiny Alice is hiding inside a teapot. And there is also a normal sized Alice in the house as well! Oh my!

Quest Task: Search for anything that could explain Alice’s strange behavior.

Quest Task: There are two Alices now?! Talk to Happy Alice about it.

Happy Alice & Sad Alice

It’s almost like the images you see in the fractured glass of a mirror. But these two Alices are real. Tiny Alice is very, very sad, while the normal size Alice is overly happy.

You need to figure out how this happened. And fix it!!

However, when you try to get information out of tiny Sad Alice, she simply sinks deeper into the teapot and asks to be left alone.

A Glimpse of the Problem

Talk to Happy Alice. She finds everything, including Sad Alice very funny. Still, she does give you a little information.

Happy Alice explains that she was very sad when Scrooge yelled at her. But she didn’t want to be sad anymore. Then suddenly, here she is and now she’s happy.

That’s all the information you get from Happy Alice, however. She doesn’t want to think about sad people, so that’s that.

Making Sad Alice Happier

To find out more about what happened, you need to improve Sad Alice’s mood.

Alice loves Ice Cream and according to Happy Alice, it is the one food that makes her really, really happy.

Head to a nearby cooking station and make up some ice cream cones. Banana, Chocolate and Vanilla should do the trick!

Quest Task: Cook the following meals for Sad Alice.

A Small Success

It worked, sort of. Sad Alice did come out of the teapot, and she did get a little bit bigger. But it just wasn’t enough.

Although she is no longer tiny, she is still very small. However, her mood has improved enough so that she is now willing to tell you more about what happened.

It all started when Scrooge scolded her for wrinkling the clothes in his shop. She left, feeling very sad, and the magic Kaleidoscope that was uncovered in Alice’s quest “Mimsy Were the Borogoves” started to glow.

Alice looked through the Magical Kaleidoscope and next thing she knew, there were two of her. She was even sadder, but the other one was extremely happy.

Quest Task: Ask Sad Alice if she liked the ice cream.

Scrooge’s Store

Hmm, you need to talk to Scrooge about the fractured glass Alice situation. Perhaps he can help you figure out a solution.

But when you open the door to Scrooge’s Store, you find him in no mood for conversation. Happy Alice is inside and making quite a mess.

Merlin’s Advice

It’s time to get some advice from the Valley’s magic expert. He needs to know about the fractured glass effect that the Kaleidoscope had on Alice.

So, find Merlin and fill him in on what happened with Alice’s Kaleidoscope.

Merlin believes that you can reunite the two Alices. But first, you need to get Sad Alice back to normal size. Then, if you then resolve the issues that caused her to be so sad in the first place, the two Alices should be able to merge back into one.

Now all that’s left to do is get the two Alices to agree join forces once again.
