The old journal you found in the Enchanted Flower is yours. But you don’t remember writing it.

Plus, it seems to have a lot of magical properties and brings on very strong feelings when you hold it.

Merlin calls it a Memento. It’s a magical object that is created when you seal away complicated and sometimes even unpleasant experiences.

Quest Task: Talk to Merlin about the strange, magical object you found.

Merlin believes the experience and feelings you locked away in the journal are trying to push back and break free of the pages. That is why the Memento is starting to cause magical chaos, as it did in Wild, Wild Wishes.

Plus, there are likely more Memento’s hidden in Dreamlight Valley. If this one is starting to push back, at some point the others will likely push back as well. When they do, you can expect to see some more magical problems creep up in the Valley.

Only you will be able to put things right.

To resolve the issues, you will need to face the feelings within the Memento, understand them, and embrace them. Only by facing the feelings can you finally set them aside for good.

But for now, you simply need to keep your journal safe. And, of course, keep an eye out for any more Mementos and the magical problems that they will very likely create!
