There is nothing to be done about that. You need to focus on what to do next.

Oswald and you head up to the main floor and out of the Ancient Ruins. You need to talk to Merlin… the REAL Merlin!

Merlin is going to do what Merlin does best. He’s going to do some research!

In the meantime, he’s asked you to check out what has changed on Eternity Isle and check with the Villagers.

The monochrome mystery is very strange. It hasn’t affected everything, at least not yet. But you do find some things. Best to take pictures of them, so you can show Merlin.

Quest Task: Talk a picture of black and white objects around Eternity Isle

• Books in EVE’s secret chamber on the Docks

• Crates near Gaston’s shipwreck in the Wastes
• The boat high up in the middle of the Tangle.

The Villagers of Eternity Isle are handling the monochrome mystery fairly well.

You give EVE the directive to care for the island and watch out for the new animals. You’re sure you saw a black and white monkey running around The Docks!

Gaston, as usual, is mostly talk and little action, but he will be on the watch for any heroic deeds that can be done. In fact, he saw a black and white cobra in the Glittering Dunes. That is definitely worth watching.

Rapunzel is glad to hear you are working on the Case of the Monochrome Mystery. She’ll help wherever she can, starting with caring for the black and white capybara that has appeared in the Wild Tangle.

Merlin has completed his initial research. Jafar’s experiments with the Spark of Imagination are causing some of Dreamlight Valley’s past to leak into the present.

However, to really solve the Monochrome Mystery, Merlin and you will need to learn more!
