The Trial of Eternity

The Villagers are unhappy with Jafar’s behavior. He is definitely not making friends on Eternity Isle. There is nothing more to be done. You are going to setup the first ever Dreamlight Court. This Trial of Eternity will decide Jafar’s fate.

Preparing for Trial

The first ever Dreamlight Court is going to be held to decide what should be done about Jafar’s behavior. It will be the Trail of Eternity, and you need to get prepared.

Talk to all the Villagers about Jafar’s Trial and request some help.

First, you need a prosecuting attorney. Recruit Scrooge McDuck for that job.

Ask EVE to keep an eye on Jafar. He knows that you are preparing for the trial. You don’t want him trying anything.

Oswald is going to help as well. He is working on finding someone to be the judge.

And don’t forget Gaston. He’s going to help with the courtroom setup. He’s the strongest person on Eternity Isle after all.

Quest Task: Prepare for the Trial with the Villagers.

  • Rapunzel
  • Gaston
  • Oswald
  • Remy
  • EVE
  • Scrooge McDuck

Resources for Trial Furniture

Before you can set up the courtroom, you need to craft some furniture for the Trial. Most of the resources you need will likely be in your Inventory. Still, if you are short anything, here is where to find them.

Tropical Wood – On the ground in the Wild Tangle

Brass Ingot – Craft at a standard crafting station from copper, zinc and coal ore (Recipe under Refined Materials). See our guide on crafting Brass Ingots for more details.

Plastic Scraps – Fish outside circles in Ancient’s Landing

Bamboo – Grows wild in Wild tangle

Fiber – Craft at a standard crafting station from seaweed (Recipe under Refined Materials)

Quest Task: Gather the resources needed to craft the Trial furnishings

  • Tropical Wood – 20
  • Brass Ingots – 10
  • Plastic Scraps – 10
  • Bamboo – 6
  • Fiber – 2

Crafting Trail Furnishings

Head to a nearby standard crafting station. You need attorney stands and bamboo benches for the trial. Both crafting recipes can be found under Furniture in your crafting menu.

Quest Task: Craft the trial furnishings.

  • Attorney Stands – 2
  • Bamboo Benches – 2

Quest Task: Head to the Ancient Ruins to oversee the progress on the courtroom.

Gaston’s Help

Gaston is pleased to be recognized for his strength! He is very happy to help haul the furniture and set up the courtroom. He even notices that you are missing one important piece of furniture and wants to take care of supplying it. It’s the judge’s chair.

Quest Task: Make sure you have:

  • Attorney Stands – 2
  • Bamboo Benches – 2

Quest Task: Bring the Trial Furniture to Gaston.

Dreamlight Judge

Everything is falling into place for the Trial of Eternity. The last detail is finding the Dreamlight Judge.

Oswald has been doing a lot of interviewing and has finally come up with the perfect candidate. The one person everyone agrees could be fair. You!

Quest Task: Check in with Oswald about his hunt for a Dreamlight Judge.

Appropriate Judge Attire

Oswald is very convincing. You agree to be the judge.

Now, according to Oswald, you need to dress the part. He even suggests you wear a powdered wig.

Okay… why not! If you don’t have one in your Inventory, Scrooge is sure to have one in stock.

Quest Task: Optional – Order the Commodore’s Powdered Wig from Scrooge McDuck’s Store.

Quest Task: Dress up like a fancy Judge using:

  • The Commodore’s Powdered Wig
  • Some Elegant Clothing

The Trial of Eternity Begins

Everything is ready. Head to the Ancient Ruins to start the Trial.

As you approach the assembled group, Jafar and Scrooge start their debate. The Trial is off to an interesting start.

Quest Task: Return to the Ancient Ruins to begin the Trial.

Quest Task: Begin the Trial.

  • Let Scrooge and Jafar debate

Gaston’s Testimony

Gaston testimony is first. He, oddly enough for him anyway, makes an interesting point during his testimony. He talks about all the other Villagers who have also done bad things, including himself, at times. Yet they get to stay.

Gaston shares with the court that although Jafar did hypnotize him, he used him for his strength, which he is very proud of. So, in the end, Gaston isn’t terribly angry with Jafar.

Quest Task: Talk to Gaston to hear his testimony.

Quest Task: Listen to the debate in the courtroom.

Oswald’s Testimony

Oswald’s testimony comes next. He was the most affected by Jafar’s recent behavior. Still, Oswald is a strong believer of giving second, or third, chances.

He also comments that at one time Jafar did live on Eternity Isle peacefully with the other Villagers. But no one remembers.

If you can find some of those old memories with your Royal Hourglass, and they show that Jafar can get along with everyone on Eternity Isle, Oswald is fine with letting him stay.

Quest Task: Let Oswald come to the Witness Stand next.

  • Stay near the Judge’s Chair in the Ancient’s Ruins.
  • Talk to Oswald to hear his testimony.

Court Takes a Recess

Oswald’s idea is good. The Trial of Eternity takes a recess. You need to track down some lost memories.

It will be most interesting to see what they show.

Quest Task: Use the Hourglass to track down good memories of Jafar in:

  • Borderlands
  • Lagoon
  • Overlook

Pro Tip: If you do not find a memory after a couple attempts in one of the areas, try going to Dreamlight Valley and using your Hourglass to do some Timebending there. It is likely that returning to Eternity Isle after that, will “reset” things so you can find the memories you still need. It worked for us.

The Trial Shifts

After examining the lost memories and discussing them with Jafar, it’s clear that he is indeed capable of being a citizen of Eternity Isle and getting along with the other Villagers.

So, you decision is to let him stay, with conditions.

He will have to complete some community service. Hopefully doing some good for the Island will remind him of how to be a proper member of the community!

Quest Task: Return to your Judge’s chair in the courtroom in the Ancient Ruins.

Quest Task: Give your final judgement to Jafar.
