On September 12, 2023, Blizzard made every Diablo IV Season 1 player just a little happier by releasing an update that increased the experience points bonus from the Urn of Arression season blessing. The bonus increased from 8% to 20%. On the surface, this didn’t feel like a huge deal. The leveling for the season has been slow at best and downright boring and painful for others who are completionists.

Giarc and I sat down over the weekend to test out the update and see if this increase was helpful at all. We were both pleasantly surprised to see that going in on level 76 we went up a full paragon segment plus some after a Nightmare Dungeon and after a few hours of play had increased our levels by 2.

This may not sound like much, however, to put this into perspective, the weekend before, we played for over 4 hours and didn’t level up even once. This was a really nice change of pace and it felt like we were making progress in the game again.

Way to go, Blizzard, for listening to your players and making a change that will hopefully encourage the burnt-out players to pick up the controller or turn on their PCs again and reenter Sanctuary.
