Maui likes Disney Dreamlight Valley well enough, but it’s missing one very important item. Coconuts. According to Maui, if HE had created Disney Dreamlight Valley, it would already have coconuts. Take note Gameloft developers. But, since he didn’t, he’s here now to rectify the situation. He needs you to catch and bury the eel, pronto!

Disney Dreamlight Valley is now home to a Demigod and he needs something fixed. Right away, if not sooner!
Maui has come to live on your island. Since his arrival, he has been checking out the place and pretty much likes what he sees. In spite of that, he finds that Dreamlight Valley is missing one very important thing. Coconuts!
Maui is going to help you fix this major flaw to Dreamlight Valley. To start, Maui sends you to Goofy for a fishing consultation.

Fishing Consult
Fishing can be tricky at times. You need to catch an eel. Yet, you haven’t seen any in all the time you’ve been fishing in Dreamlight Valley.
Maui suggests, strongly, that you consult with Goofy, the resident fishing expert… well sort of…sometimes anyway…I guess it depends on the day…
Goofy knows exactly how to catch eel. You’re going to need worms and a fishing trap. And with Goofy’s help, just a little bit of luck.
Quest Task: Talk to Goofy.
Quest Task: Gather the following items.
- Worms – 3
- Softwood – 8

Digging for Worms
The best place to dig for worms, according to Goofy, is the Peaceful Meadow. They like to inhabit the cracked earth spots that show up from time to time in that area.
Digging for worms is a bit of a trial-and-error thing. Still, that’s nothing to worry about, since you can always use more of the resources you dig up, when you don’t end up finding worms in the various spots. Eventually, with a little persistence, you find the worms you need to bait your trap.
What trap is that? It’s the trap you still need to make.

Fishing Trap Crafting
With some softwood, and the worms you just gathered, the fishing trap is very easy to put together. Head to a nearby crafting station and look under the Furniture tab to find the crafting recipe you need.

Baiting the Trap
Catching Eel is a bit different than normal fishing. The fishing trap, containing the worms. is used to lure the eel to your location. When they get close to the trap, they create a red fishing circle. (They probably think you can’t see them. Hah!) Then, you use your Royal Fishing Rod to pluck them out of the water.
Goofy said the best place to catch Eel is near the dock on Dazzle Beach, so that’s where you drop your new fishing trap. Now you just need to wait. This shouldn’t take too long.
Quest Task: Place the Fishing Trap near the dock on Dazzle Beach.

Fishing Time
After giving Maui a quick update on your fishing progress, head back to Dazzle Beach to check the trap. It’s a good day to fish! It looks like the eel has taken the bait!

Burying the Eel
Maui was serious about burying the Eel. He really does want you to do that.
It’s a rather strange thing to do, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to try it.

An Eel Plant?
Is there such a thing as an Eel Plant?
Anyway, be sure to water your new plant. Before you know it, you’ll have an Eel Tree!
Just kidding. You’ll have a Coconut Tree, with some coconuts ready to be harvested. It’s your very first Coconut Tree in Dreamlight Valley. Maui will be so pleased!!
Quest Task: Tend to the crop until it grows into a Coconut Tree.
Quest Task: Harvest the Coconut from the new Coconut Tree.

Dreamlight Valley Coconuts
Grab the coconuts off the new Coconut tree and rush off to show Maui. He was in a big hurry, after all.
Yes, Maui is indeed pleased. Coconuts will now grow on Dazzle Beach! He loves to share, in such a tangible fashion, one of the many feats that made Maui the hero that he is!
