Another Key Piece

You left The Wanderer of the Dunes with half of the Scarab key to Jafar’s mysterious vault. The other half of the key is somewhere in the Wild Tangle on Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Eternity Isle. The Wild Tangle’s swarm of insects seems to be the key to finding … the key. How to get to it is your next challenge.

The Search of the Key Piece

The Search for the Scarab key piece continues, sort of. Gaston might have more information for you, but he needs to recoup from all the exertion expelled during the search for the first half of the key.

Funny thing, though. All the exertion was yours. Oh well.

Let Gaston do his thing and return a bit later to check on his status.

Quest Task: Gaston is not yet ready to help you find the next Scarab Piece.

  • Give Gaston some time to re-center himself.
  • Explore the Wild Tangle to see who you meet.

Rapunzel May Know

Gaston is finally ready to talk again. While he doesn’t have any new ideas on where to find the key, he suggests you find Rapunzel. He met her briefly, once, in the Wild Tangle and she might know something.

After giving Gaston a task that should keep him busy and help prepare for the trip into the vault, you head off to find Rapunzel.

Quest Task: Check on Gaston.

Buzz of Insects

Rapunzel hasn’t seen the vault key, but there is an area of the Wild Tangle she hasn’t been able to investigate. The Wild Tangle’s swarm of insects have the area blocked.

Interesting. Swarm of insects, missing Scarab Key… Could one be attracting the other? This might be worth investigating!

Quest Task: Talk to Rapunzel.

Wild Tangle’s Swarm of Insects

You find the Wild Tangle swarm of insects in The Grove. There is definitely something behind the swarm, but it’s too thick to get through. There are a Lot of insects!

No wonder Rapunzel stayed behind. You can’t really get close enough to investigate further, either. Still, there must be a way to get rid of them?!

Your camera is magical, so it must have a good Zoom feature, right?! Snap a few pictures and head back to Rapunzel. Perhaps together you can come up with a Wild Tangel Swarm Removal plan!

Quest Task: Find the Swarming Insects in the Grove.

Quest Task: Those insects are hiding something. But how to get rid of them?

  • Take a picture of the insects to show Rapunzel. She might have an idea.

Carnivorous Plants

Rapunzel has a great idea. There are several carnivorous plants growing in the Wild Tangle. She’s guessing that they would love a meal of scarabs. Especially since scarabs usually stay in the Glittering Dunes.

It makes you wonder… are scarabs a sort of delicacy for these carnivorous plants? But I digress.

Time to gather plants and tropical wood!

Quest Task: Return to Rapunzel.

Quest Task: Gather the following resources from across Eternity Isle.

  • Green Fly Trap – 4
  • Purple Fly Trap – 4
  • Red Pitcher Plant – 4
  • Yellow Pitcher Plant – 4

When you first enter the Wild Tangle, the only area open to you is The Grasslands. To reach the rest of the Wild Tangle requires your Royal Hourglass and Mist. Quite a lot of Mist actually.

It should be noted that the only way to reach The Lagoon, is to first open and pass through The Grove.

  • The Grove (Wild Tangle) – 4000 Mist

Hungry Plants

Carnivorous plants to the rescue.

Place the Carnivorous Floral Arrangements close to the Wild Tangle’s Swarm of insects.

The plants will need a little time to eat their fill, so you might as well go and check on Gaston progress, or lack thereof, while they have their meal.

Quest Task: Decorate using the Carnivorous Floral Arrangement near the Bug-infested Pedestal in the Grove – 2.

Quest Task: Now all that’s left to do is wait. This might take a while.

  • Check on Gaston and how he’s doing with his task.

Behind the Swarm of Insects

The plants make quick work of the Wild Tangle’s swarm.

As soon as you finish your conversation with Gaston, head back to the plants and take a look. The Swarm is gone! A small alcove with a pedestal is revealed. And sure enough, on the pedestal sits the second scarab piece!

Quest Task: The plants should have eaten the insects by now.

  • Return to the Pedestal in the Grove.

Quest Task: You found the Jungle Scarab Piece!

  • Pick up the Jungle Scarab Piece from the pedestal.

Perhaps Jafar has a thought on what to do next.

However, what he does tell you is a bit of a surprise. Gaston will not be pleased.
